November’s mystery plant is a perennial with dingy three-parted yellow petals and alternate entire leaves. The flowers are small and wooly and occur in a cluster at the top of the stem The roots and sap of the plant are red in color. This plant blooms from July through August and is rare in RI. It grows along peaty pond shores.
